RetailMax operated on a legacy monolithic e-commerce system that struggled under growing traffic, often crashing during flash sales. The platform lacked modern features such as real-time inventory tracking, personalized product recommendations, and mobile-responsive design. With competitors rapidly modernizing, RetailMax needed a complete rebuild that could handle 10x their current traffic while dramatically improving the shopping experience.

We architected a high-performance Next.js e-commerce platform using server-side rendering and incremental static regeneration for blazing-fast page loads and strong SEO. Real-time inventory was managed through WebSocket connections backed by Redis pub/sub, ensuring accurate stock counts across all channels. We integrated a custom AI recommendation engine trained on purchase history data, and built a seamless checkout flow with Stripe supporting Apple Pay, Google Pay, and local payment methods. The Supabase backend provided real-time database subscriptions for live dashboard updates.
