Clingy collects as little as possible — no account, no sign-up, and no data selling. Here is exactly what the app handles and why.
Effective June 28, 2026Clingy is a personal reminder app published by ToanKhonTech. We built it to collect as little as possible: there is no account, no sign-up, and no login. This policy explains what data Clingy handles, why, and the choices you have.
The tasks you create — title, optional note, due date, reminder interval, category, and completion status — are stored on your device, and, if you keep iCloud enabled, synced through your own private iCloud account so they appear on your other devices. So we can remind you reliably even when the app is closed, a copy of your active (not-yet-completed) tasks — their title, due time, and reminder interval — is sent to our notification server. Completed tasks are removed from the server, and deleting a task or resetting the app's data deletes it from the server too.
To send your reminders we store an anonymous device identifier (a random ID generated on your device, not linked to your name, email, or Apple ID), your device's push-notification token, your time zone, and your app language. We also keep timestamps of recent activity, used only to time reminders and occasional gentle re-engagement nudges, and to stop them once you are active again.
Subscriptions and purchases are processed entirely by Apple. We never see or store your payment details; we only receive your current Pro status from Apple to unlock Pro features.
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, or precise location. Clingy contains no third-party advertising and no analytics or tracking SDKs, and we never sell or rent your data.
We rely on Apple for iCloud sync, the Apple Push Notification service, and the App Store, and on Cloudflare, which hosts our notification backend and stores the data described above to schedule and send your reminders. All data is transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Please see Apple's Privacy Policy and Cloudflare's Privacy Policy for their own practices.
Active-task data and device data are kept on our server only as long as needed to send your reminders. You can remove them at any time: complete or delete a task, use Settings → Reset App Data in the app to clear everything, or delete the app to remove local data (iCloud copies follow your iCloud settings). You can also turn off notification permission at any time to stop all reminders.
Clingy is a general-audience productivity app, is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
If we update this policy, we will change the effective date above and post the new version at this page.
